Robert & Emily’s Intimate Porch Wedding

Home is wherever I'm with you.

Whoever said weddings had to be an elaborate affair? Robert & Emily didn’t even have to leave their home to have the wedding of their dreams!

Their wedding was a small intimate celebration that took place right in their own front yard. They skipped the traditional wedding attire, opting instead for a homemade dress and an outfit planned around fresh new kicks!

Although it was early July, Emily didn’t shy away from rich jewel tones for her bouquet. The bouquet was built around a show-stopping burgundy peony nestled next to an equally large and lush café au lait dahlia. Bouquet staples like burgundy ranunculus and hot pink stock gave the bouquet a touch of the classic, while the peach carnation balanced the darker colors and filled out the bouquet. We used astilbe, blue thistle, leucadendron, astrantia, and a sprig of wax flower to give the bouquet a whimsical, textured shape and finished it off with Italian Ruscus and eucalyptus for that plucked from the garden vibe. The end result was a true show stopper that looked perfect paired with her light blue wedding top!

The boutonnieres and corsages were built with the same color palette as the bridal bouquet. They featured similar flowers like burgundy ranunculus, wax flower, and astilbe, but with floral like scabiosa and spray roses added to mix it up. We love these photos of Robert & Emily giving personal flowers to their family members. They perfectly capture the intimate vibe of the whole wedding, everyone showing up and supporting each other, even with something as simple as slipping on a corsage or pinning a boutonniere.

They said their “I dos” on the front porch, expertly decorated by us, while their guests looked on from the sidewalk. We used a mix of salal, asparagus fern, Italian Ruscus, and some wild greenery found nearby for the lush garden feel. Emily wanted a lighter, more classic touch for the ceremony flowers, so we peppered in quicksand and ocean song roses alongside some sweet majolica spray roses. The final product seamlessly blended in with the expertly tended flower boxes and looked like it belonged there the whole time!

Cocktails and Dinner took place in the backyard. The guests were invited to get their food from Fat Shallots Food Truck parked right outside, head inside for a custom cocktail from the bartender in the kitchen, and then take a seat on the back patio. The tables were decorated with a blend of flowers from the porch and the personals, mixing the classic with the bold, while whimsical bud vases peppered cocktail tables throughout the yard. The end result was a welcoming, chill reception.

A bonus of getting married at home? Your cat can attend!

We want to wish Emily & Robert the happiest of anniversaries!

Thank you for letting us be a part of your special day! It was one of our favorites from 2021 and hopefully is the beginning of a new trend. More porch weddings, please!
