We’re expanding our team!

Hedonia Flowers is a wedding florist located in Bridgeport, Chicago. We're looking for creative, flexible individuals to join us for the 2023 wedding season. We work with clients across various budgets and needs, with a focus on transparency, inclusivity, and of course - beautiful flowers!

Studio Assistants

Studio Assistants will be responsible for preparing for upcoming weddings. This includes packing hard goods like candles and venue decor, preparing receptacles for floral arrangements, and prepping the flowers for design. This position will also be responsible for cleaning, storing, and organizing said hard goods after the event is finished. 

Mondays, Tuesdays, & Wednesdays - No experience required.

Wedding Installation & Strike Team

As a member of the Installation & Strike Team, you will be responsible for helping to set up and tear down some of Chicago’s most beautiful events.

Installs generally involve setting up wedding decor for ceremony, cocktail hour, and receptions across Chicago. You’ll also be assisting in constructing large pieces like our chuppah and should be comfortable on a ladder for any hanging installations. Friendly, helpful, & hard working attitudes are a must for these super fun but often physically demanding days.

Usually Saturdays, sometimes Sundays and Fridays. No experience required.

Strikes require individuals to be present at the end of the event to pick up and pack all hard goods and leftover flowers in a timely and organized manner.

Weekend nights - typically 10PM-1AM on Saturdays/Sundays. MUST have a driver’s license and access to a vehicle. Ideally someone comfortable with driving a uhaul. No experience required.

Experienced Floral Designers

As an Experienced Floral Designer, you will be responsible for designing weddings both in-studio and on-site, from bouquets and boutonnieres to centerpieces and chuppahs. You’ll need to consistently produce gorgeous designs based on recipes and client’s design decks. You’ll also be responsible for leading smaller teams on install day. Knowledge of flowers, floral care, and techniques are a must, as is a hard-working, good-natured personality. Hiring for multiple freelancers for the 2023 season, but we hope to find a special person who can join the team on a permanent basis!

2+ years of floral design experience required - event experience preferred

Wednesdays-Saturdays with full time potential.

Applicants must have:

• Eligibility to work in the US

• Weekend availability (except for Studio Assistants)

• Ability to lift 30 pounds & stand on their feet for several hours

• Attention to detail with a serious love of organization

• Flexible, roll-with-the-punches attitude

• Willingness to go above and beyond in pursuit of perfection

• A desire to learn

Bonus points for:

• Flower knowledge

• Wedding & event experience

• Maker/creative types who know how to build shit

• TikTok skills

• Driver's license

• Double bonus if you have a car

• Double bonus again if you can drive a Uhaul

Each of these positions is part-time & freelance (typically 15-25 hours per week).
